For me, Feisty runs faster than Edgy.  The client load is less (I think 
due to some improvements with the ltsp x sessions).
However, I suggest to check processor usage (100 % will make your system 
stand still), and this is the easiest thing to check.

I expect you will find that the reason for the slowness is that the hard 
drive is caching to SWAP disk.  Increase ram will help.

What is your hard drive configuration?  My /home directory is on a raid 
5 set (data redundant and striping for speed).  Home is best to put on a 
disk separate from rest of file system to balance load.  SWAP is also 
good to put on several disks; Ubuntu will use them most effectively.
