You could try alsamixer and/or alsamixergui -Rob

Sound in KDE 3.5.7 does work using esd. Unfortunetly KMix doesn't work properly. I do need a working mixer application for my X-Terminals to control KDE (and maybe Non-KDE Applications). Does anybody of you know how to do?? Changing the Sound-Server (from esd to nas or anything else) wouldn't be a problem. I just need some hints how to handle the problem. Thanks in advance.
