The new LDM script available on launchpad.net adds additional lts.conf options such as LDM_DIRECTX. This allows users to connect without proxying X traffic through SSH, which has improved the performance a great deal. Unfortunately, I have trouble using the lock screen and switch user options. Because we use this in a business environment, lock screen is somewhat essential. I am unsure as to why this happens but I've noticed a few differences.

Perhaps your .Xauthority file is not set up correctly. LDM_DIRECTX=False [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gdmflexiserver -d -n Sending command: 'VERSION' Got response: 'GDM 2.18.1' Sending command: 'AUTH_LOCAL 379cba207c8bdec8e6e4fd896a38dfc6' Got response: 'ERROR 100 Not authenticated' Sending command: 'FLEXI_XNEST localhost:10 1002 379cba207c8bdec8e6e4fd896a38dfc6 /home/user2/.Xauthority' Got response: 'OK :20' Sending command: 'CLOSE' LDM_DIRECTX=True Lock Screen I get a pop-up window stating the following: "Error while running command: **Mesage: Screensaver is not running!" LDM_DIRECTX=False Lock Screen works. Though it would be nice if this was somehow resolved, I'm really just looking as to why this would be? Everything else works without a hitch and I'm just trying to figure out why this last bit doesn't work.
