This is a challenge/response spam filtering scheme that has been configured by
someone who doesn't know what he is doing.

You will probably receive that message back from his spam filter every time you
post something to this mailing list.

The administrator for this mailing list should probably either tell that guy to
disable his filter for this list, or just delete his subscription.

I suggest that the rest of us simply ignore the challenge messages as they
arrive.  If they become a nuisance, set up your mail client to filter them to
your trash or something.
