one thing I've heard from professionals working with MSJet/MS Access
DB's in Linux settings, is that it has problems with permissions and
related things in Linux file systems.

I don't know enough about these things to say definitive things, but
investigating if putting it on an NTFS partition that LTSP +
Wine/Crossover then handles might help *could perhaps* prove worthwhile.
