I agree completely.  Unfortunately, while I'm reasonably sure that I have the
XDMCP and GDM settings right on the server, it's still not working, which
leads me to wonder if there is a bug of some sort in Fedora 8/x86_64.

Accordingly, I have filed a bug report here:

 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=379511

In the meantime, I'm sort of stuck.
