My test environment:

Server is Edubuntu 7.10 x86_64 (Intel Core Duo 2, 2GB RAM).
Client is old PC (P4, i845G, 256MB RAM).

ppracer worked on that client. It did has some warnings/errors, but I was
able to run the race anyway.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ppracer
PPRacer 0.3.1 --  http://racer.planetpenguin.de

libGL error: XF86DRIAuthConnection failed
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

ppracer is not R, but 3D seems to work here anyway.
