I´ve got a problem using local devices with my thin
clients. I´m using Debian 4.0r1 with LTSP 4.2. When I
first installed the system, I was able to access the
thin client´s floppy, CD-ROM and flash memory without
any problems using any account. Now when I log into a
thin client using a normal account, I cannot read the
floppy, CD-ROM and flash memory. My_Floppy appears on
the GNOME screen and in /home/username/Drives, but I
can not see the contents of the floppy disk, nor can I
write to it. If I insert a CD, "My_CD-ROM" also
appears in the GNOME screen and in
/home/username/Drives, but I can not see the contents
of the CD. Nonetheless, if I log into a client as
root, I can see contents of My_Floppy and My_CD-ROM
just fine.

In all accounts including root, I can no longer use
flash memory drives. I have tried both the ohci and
ehci drivers, but neither seem to work anymore, but
they used to work 2 weeks ago. I have made no changes
to my lts.conf file in the last 2 weeks.

Any suggestions as to how to solve these strange
problems?

thanks in advance,
Amos Batto
