Hi,

Finally, I decided to follow the advices of the list to make local
devices work and moved to LTSP 5 (Debian Lenny). Thanks, it was
simple and straightforward.

Nevertheless, now the thinclients with serial mouse have lost the
pointing device (on LTSP 4.2 they work fine).

The strange thing is that the xorg.conf generated on those thinclients
have a ps/2 device defined with "auto" protocol (instead of the
X_MOUSE_DEVICE=/dev/ttyS0 and X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL=microsoft of the
lts.conf)

It's not a hardware problem because when I modify manually the
xorg.conf with the right values it starts to work fine.

Any hint will be apreciated...

Thanks in advance,

Marcelo

For the record: this is a sample of the thinclient lts.conf

------------ lts.conf -----------

[default]
    #SOUND=False
    LOCALDEV=True
    #CONFIGURE_X=False
    X_COLOR_DEPTH=16

...

# ThinClient-4
[00:08:54:0E:F5:76]
    XSERVER=ati
    X_MOUSE_DEVICE=/dev/ttyS0
    X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL=microsoft
    X_HORZSYNC=30-50
    X_VERTREFRESH=50-120
