Hello Community A lot of progress has been made since the meeting last week, here is the status report of the project and minutes of the project meeting yesterday.
* Lars Vogdt(co-mentor) and Jan Weber(GSOC student) were present for the meeting * Discussion started trying to get monodevelop set up and build the application * The very initial GUI is done for kiwi-ltsp part(openSUSE specific), it should be fully functional by next week, * If you have mono and vte-sharp installed, download http://forgeftp.novell.com/kiwi-ltsp/easy-ltsp.tar.bz2, extract and run mono Easy-LTSP.exe in the extracted folder to give it a try. Copy kiwi-ltsp file to /etc/sysconfig/kiwi-ltsp * Jan will work on cleaning the GUI, getting it all in one window and complete kiwi-ltsp part by next wednesday * Tooltips and other aid will come as and when time permits * Future implementation would allow non-root users to run the application and save a configurations in home directory * Appropriate widgets would be used, for example a dropdown list where applicable instead of buttons * Only a basic and necessary configuration of the services would be handled by this GUI, for advanced configuration of other services admins should use yast modules * Workflow as it is in the initial application will be refined further * Our priority would be lts.conf GUI, so we will put in full efforts on lts.conf part(distro independent) from next week no matter what state of kiwi-ltsp part is, remaining work can be completed as and when time permits.
