we do not have experience with more then 75 terminals per server
Asmo's setup seems like a good design to copy from !
i am very optimistic that it will hold your 250 terminals if you try the
dhcpd fail-over (we use it) for two or three (as much as you need) dual core
Xeons with 6GB.
it is always easy to add more servers to the network or more ram to each
server until you are happy with the performance.
we never had any down-time with the servers :-) they are very reliable !
