Patrick- I apologize for not getting back with hard answers sooner. I finally got a chance to set up a hardy 8.04.1 test environment, and I am happy to report that the SYM1110/SYM1112 units seem to work nicely. This was on a 32-bit server, and these were the steps I took:
1. Install Hardy 8.04.1 from CD 2. Install ltsp-server-standalone 3. Create the chroot with: ltsp-build-client --copy-sourceslist (NOTE: It is important to use --copy-sourceslist with the 8.04.1 CD so that the chroot is built from hardy-updates) 4. Remove the splash screen (delete "splash" from /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default) 5. Add the NoPanel option to lts.conf: X_OPTION_01 = "\"NoPanel\" \"true\"" That worked for me. In your case, I would add "--arch=i386" to the ltsp-build-client command in #3. Hope that helps, -Gideon On Wed, 2008-07-30 at 14:47 -0400, Patrick Rady wrote: > > > These are Geode-based devices, and there seem to be issues aplenty > > > with Geodes and Hardy Heron. > > fixed on the 8.04.1 CD > > > > ciao > > oli > > > > Sadly, after doing fresh installs from the 8.04.1 CD (on a new machine, no > less), I am having the same problems getting the Symbio clients to work. > > Could the problem be related to the fact that I am using 64-bit server with a > 32-bit LTSP chroot environment.
