Cameras can talk to computers in two ways: 1. As USB storage devices (like a USB stick) 2. Using PTP - a transport protocol developed for cameras.
Right now, LTSP supports #1. I have hacked in support for #2, but it hasn't yet made it upstream (so, coming soon ;) ). Anyhow, if your camera can be put into USB storage mode (some cameras support both #1 and #2 but default to PTP mode), then it will work.
