Hi,

just did a bigger update of my client-fs:

I was coming from 5.0.40~bzr20071229-1 and now moved on to 5.1.10-1

However, when trying to bring up my NetVista N2200 clients, the boxes
lock when setting up the sceen. They have the integrated CS5530
multimedia controller, and I suppose something in the startup seqence
causes here a hick-up.

I tried disabling X in lts.conf by

    SCREEN_07          = shell

But this didn't change anything. When looking at the boot progress, my
observation is as follows. With 5.0.40 I got the messages like this:

    [...]
    Setting up LTSP client...
    {after this message, the screen setup seems to get invoked ... the
    tux from the kernel dissappears ... seems to be some init of the
    framebuffer and I have aproxx. the top three text-lines overwritten
    with some graphics garbage - presumably junk-data that was in the
    fb-memory}
    Setting up networking ...
    [...]
    {then hte sceen blanks, some more text messages and ldm fires up}

With 5.1.10 I got the messages

    [...]
    Setting up LTSP client... Warning: /lib/discover does not exist.
    {then some thing about /etc/syslog.conf ... the tux dissappears, I
    get the graphics-garbage in the top-rows and my client locks}

Any ideas how I

    * how I could further debug this?
    * where I should look in the scripts?
    * how I could (temporarily) disable the screen setup to boot the
      client cleanly into text-mode?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Stefan.
