Around these parts, "standard" monitors seem to be getting less and less
available in the stores -- everything is moving to widescreen. This is not a
bad thing -- I love the widescreen monitor that I have on this computer and
wouldn't want to go back to a standard monitor.
However, I have several Neoware Capio 600 terminals running at a couple of
locations and had someone ask me the other day if a widescreen monitor would
work with one of them. I had no idea, so I took an Acer 22" widescreen monitor
and attached it to one of them and changed the lts.conf file to read as follows:
# Config file for the Linux Terminal Server Project (www.ltsp.org)
#
[Default]
SERVER = 192.168.0.5
XSERVER = auto
X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL = "ImPS/2"
X_MOUSE_DEVICE = "/dev/psaux"
X_MOUSE_RESOLUTION = 400
X_MOUSE_BUTTONS = 3
USE_XFS = N
USE_NBD_SWAP = Y
SCREEN_01 = startx
X_HORZSYNC = 31.47-80
X_VERTREFRESH = 59-61
# X_VERTREFRESH = 56.25-75
X_DEVICE_OPTION_01 = NoAccel
# X_MODE_0 = 1280x1024
X_MODE_0 = 1680x1050
X_DPMS = Y
X_DPMS_STANDBYTIME = 600
X_DPMS_SUSPENDTIME = 900
X_DPMS_OFFTIME = 1200
I normally have some 1280x1024 resolution monitors on that server but changed
the X_MODE_0 line to read 1680x1050 instead.
This didn't work. I got a horizontally stretched screen were everything was too
short-and-fat.
Am I just out of luck?
