The cable and lts.conf is fine, it works with HP 1015 and HP 3050 in the same 
computer .... just HP 1020 still doesn´t work ....

I had similar problem with LTSP 4.2 but the problem is the USB Cable. 
If you change the USB cable, for one better than comes with the printer, it
will be ok, at least in ltsp 4.2 worked fine.

did you setup the printer in /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf ?
if not have a look here:
