Gabriel,

Make sure you do have the telnet-server rpm installed:   rpm -qa|grep telnet
you should see telnet-server listed...
next drill down to:  /etc/xinet.d/telnet   edit this file change the line
that says: disable = yes  to >>  disable = no   SAVE,,,
then do an :    ../etc/init.d/xinetd/reload     ,,,You see reload (OK)
now do an:  nmap localhost    ,, you should see   port 23 OPEN,,,
reboot the client
You should now be able to letnet into your server,,:)
