Hi Jim, took me a long time to answer this, but I had to find a student with such a USB stick first. Now I have.
This one has no problem when plugged in directly to the server. It is automounted as a SCSI disc, just as expected, and can be read. When I plug it in at one of the terminals, the LED lights up (like: got current) but nothing ever happens (no flashing LED, nothing in /var/log/messages). By the way: When I plug it into the server, I'll get a message at all the terminals at once saying "new media, what shall I do with it?" - just like when a CD is inserted. That's multimedia Suse... :-) and another problem I didn't solve yet. Thanks for your time.
