Evince Document Viewer (http://www.gnome.org/projects/evince), which I think comes standard with the Gnome desktop on most distributions, is a lot faster than Adobe Reader 8. It has the ability to display thumbnails, bookmarks, etc. Just select "View, Side Pane", or hit F9. It does a decent job with most aspects of viewing PDF's. I use it as my primary PDF viewer, but do occasionally use Adobe Reader 8 to print documents when I need some of the more advanced printing features Adobe offers that Evince doesn't. Hope this helps. --- On Mon, 12/15/08, M Rathburn <stretc...@gmail.com> wrote: > From: M Rathburn <stretc...@gmail.com> > Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] Speedup Adobe Reader 8 > To: ltsp-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net > Date: Monday, December 15, 2008, 9:04 AM > Server is Edubuntu 8.10 32bit > Clients are Diskless Workstations PXE 1422's > > We're having a slight problem with Adobe Reader > 8.whatever being somewhat > slow on our thin clients.
