as an old ltsp-fanatic, i tried kiwi-ltsp on opensuse11.1. install went smootly, first terminals were booting in 30 minutes. but i spent a lot of time searching why the workststation didn't use the name from dhcpd.conf ( i specified the use-decl-names ..). in my dhcpd.conf i had something like
host ws003 { hardware ethernet 00:b0:d0:24:8b:9e; fixed-address 192.168.123.103; } the workstations name was always ws103 instead of ws003, although i saw ws003 in the bootup messages... no problem for me as long as i can specify something in lts.conf for specific workstation configurations. finally i found that i can use the mac/or ip address..... for the rest, nice ! jef ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, CA -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the Enterprise -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source participation -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: SFAD http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
