Ubuntu 8.04 doesn't have the atl1e driver for the network card. With
Intrepid the issue was that the driver wasn't included in the initrd and
so not available before the harddisk is mounted (which is a serious
problem with LTSP :)). If you somehow have the module, try to manually
put it in the initrd, it may solve your problem.
