They have 256 MB of RAM which should be more than enough. I ran xrestop, top and free on the clients at the time of freezing but saw nothing indicating that the system resources where running out. I also tried NBD swap just to be on the safe side... Specs provided by Fujitsu-Siemens say that the Futros have 32 MB of video RAM but their BIOS was setup to use only 16. I tried changing it with no effect. The specs: http://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/docs/ds_futro_a.pdf > Do the "spare parts" thin clients use identical hardware? No. They are Very Old computers I'm kind of surprised that they work at all... Now there's nine more "spare part pcs" gathered up from only our client knows where. They've been running for days without any problems... > Any difference in BIOS settings between the good and bad units? Well, the good units have a wide variety of different kind of BIOSes from different manufacturers... All of the Futros (12 or 14 of them that we've tested) are bad. They have a very scarce BIOS. We've tried fidling with the settings, disabling ACPI, APM, USB support and anything that isn't needed, changing IRQ:s ... you name it. -- - Eero ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
