FYI, I wanted to pass the word on to you all regarding an important issue (to me, anyway) regarding SDL applications running on LTSP clients.. ones like TuxPaint, TuxMath, TuxType, CircusLinux, etc.. never worked right - there was never sound, server CPU utilization would be near 100% with a single instance, and the apps would crash when you attempted to exit.
In Ubuntu, the cure is to install the 'libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio' package, which is not installed by default. I'm sure there are similar packages for other distros which might provide the same results. Hopefully this will be of help to those who want to use SDL apps on thin clients (many schools can utilize these programs as they are made for children). Details on all of this are at https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/tuxmath/+bug/269082 . Thank you all who helped solve this long standing issue (at least in Ubuntu it was an issue!)
