You should start to boot with 1 core disable as Dans & Michael said.
To do that, boot the thin client passing the parameter maxcpus=1 or nosmp. 

You can specify boot parameter in pxelinux.cfg  
 /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/arch/pxelinux.cfg/

I believe that you can also pass it at boot using gPXE.
