I've sucessfully installed OpenSuse Li-f-e 11.2. Some client can boot over network and login to LTSP. But I have some problem with some CPU that can not booting to Login window.
The error is: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VFS: Cannot open root device "<NULL>" or unknown-block (3,1) Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions DEBUG_BLOCK_EXT_DEVT is enabled, you need to specify explicit textual name for "root=" boot option. Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount fs on unknown-block (3,1) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After that the computer became Freezee and the "Caps Lock Led" and "Scroll Lock Led" blinking. Not that I'm sure that this has anything to do with your problem but I had a similar problem which was caused by the combination of a Cisco switch and HP thin clients (T5540). I had to enable spanning-tree portfast on the switch else the client freezed. The client got its address and started to boot but after a short time it hanged with error message - "Kernel panic - not syncing". After spanning-tree portfast everything went fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
