On Karmic, install twinkle in the thin client image. Then set the following
in lts.conf to enable local apps:
[Default]
LOCAL_APPS=True
LOCAL_APPS_MENU = True
If you haven't got forwarding or a proxy, its likely you don't have internet
access from the client. Heres some more info about this:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP/ThinClientHowtoNAT/
Personally, I went with the squid proxy to get internet access on my thin
clients (documented here:
http://aperture.uk.to/kbase/index.php/article/set-up-a-proxy-server-with-an-upstream-proxy)
because its much easier for me, but I'm not sure whether twinkle works from
behind a proxy.
Hope this helps.
