I've just tried sound with fat clients and indeed setting
SSH_FOLLOW_SYMLINKS=false in lts.conf solves the sound problem.
Also googleearth needs SSH_FOLLOW_SYMLINKS=false to run.
Could you please post your lts.conf ... With SSH_FOLLOW_SYMLINKS=false,
I haven't got the error anymore, but I still get no sound ...
The thin client is a HP5730 ...
