Hi list
- I'm experiencing odd booting problems with a pile of HP/Compaq
machines with tg3 netcards.
- they get an IP (first run) just fine, shows the lemon green splash and
starts booting. Which appears to run fine.
- it all comes to a halt when the client issues its 'ping -c 1'
$SERVER-IP in order for it to assure that the server is indeed there.
This ping fails - although the IP number pinged is correct and all.
- I sit back with this feeling that the stupid HP netcard would indeed
fulfill the ping request - if it was given just one more try...
- is it possible to alter the number of pings ?
- also, I notice that during the second stage, the debug screen says
about the netcard that the 'RX flow control is off' and that the 'TX
flow control is off'. Eh...this sounds disturbing to me?
