Hi
To the extent that this is OT please excuse me:
I need (for a customer) to run ltsp5 on RedHat EL-6
I'm running the beta.
I use gnome for the console and icewm for the TCs.
Only by hacking Xsession can I get to choose icewm for the TCs and gnome for
the console, by having ~/.xsession for the TC users and not having .xsession
for the console user.
With only gnome installed (RHEL does not, FC12 does have icewm, so I've built
the rpm) The GDM screen does not offer a session menu.
Just to make clear - a standard gnome install has no session menu and ignores
.xsession.
So I can either install KDE to see how they invoke the session menu
OR ask for guidance from anybody who knows (Warren?)
Hacking Xsession is not preferred because of futures, 1000s sites, that sort
of mundane commercial trivia.
Any help or ideas please
James
PS
I've taken a karmic chroot and dropped it into the RHEL server, building ndb
and tempfile rpm
PPS
I tried a lucid server just before release (at RC) and ltsp did not work,
installed ok, booted ok, but could not login. Has whatever was wrong
been fixed. The karmic chroot was just fine (and I'm using it). I don't need
media or sound so happy to stick where I am, but one day newer hardware will
be an issue ?
