Hi. Do you check the file /home/user/.xsession-errors. Here you can see the error. A time ago I have the same problem for the space in my home. I dont have space, I erase any files and all ok.

One thing that may or may not be important is that some users are able to log in via thin client, but it seems that only a certain number can, and the computers that have the edubuntu OS installed locally but, in windows terms, have a roaming profile are able to log in fine. Any help on this would be VERY VERY much appreciated.
