I have deleted and rebuild the client image by now... and everything  
is working just fine. With the very same lts.conf, at the very same  
place. BUT

There seems to be another problem now...

When I boot the client, I just get a black screen with the following on it:
(process:228): GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown  
user id (0)
