Hallo, I am having problems using card readers on my thin clients, as they seem not to notify the system about card insertion/removal. I noticed that the only way to properly use them is:
Insertion 1) insert card into reader 2) connect reader to usb port Removal 1) remove reader from usb port 2) remove card from reader If I insert or remove the card while the reader is connected to the thin client, the partition isn't mounted/unmounted. This is kind of an annoyance with external readers but a real problem with internal ones! Also: The reader is correctly recognized from the kernel, as shown by dmesg on the thin client. Another method to have the card recognized is to execute "partx [device]" on the client, but it isn't very convenient. The server is Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.1 64bit on 2.6.32. Any thoughts on further troubleshooting?
