$193 (diskless) gets you these advantages over the Alix3:
1.6 GHz Atom CPU powerful enough to run localapps
Upgradeable 512 MB to 2 GB RAM for localapps
DVI + VGA graphics
GigE
Supports 3D graphics (ex: compositing desktop)
Works unmodified on a stock LTSP setup

Of course it also comes with some disadvantages:
Slightly larger case at about 1.5 L
Higher power consumption at about 12 W

If size and power consumption isn't a big issue and you don't need DVI
or GigE you can go even cheaper with something like a 3 L Chenbro
PC78131 and an Intel D410PT for around $130.
