No, LDM_DIRECTX only affects the X sessions spawned by LDM. If it's set to FALSE (default), then everything goes through SSH, when it's not, the X11 traffic goes outside of the SSH tunnel, making things faster. RDP even when started from LDM (with recent ldm) simply spawns rdesktop or xfreerdp on the thin client and connects from there. You may be able to improve RDP's performance a bit by setting some RDP_OPTIONS though (check rdesktop --help for possible values). - -- Stéphane Graber Ubuntu developer http://www.ubuntu.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBCgAGBQJOuxzHAAoJEMY4l01keS1nw0EQAMUH/NxxPnYFiBuXBIDHSjKf TKBHKsbCuDZnXriL1456azA5Z/fGEfNPmfKietiRm+eN5O+ua7YmbS0RmRzTEphO jg40N179PRANhd4KBenghIFKmh2YMRbclRjH/ywGjkTWUMjIFLF6s+06Rid1QXSP CwIbut2g/mk2gzYjHU/pjlsB98cDMPA27iMFdpPq2uS0XqUJP1amESgXtCSFyY5K SyiRpBC37fNOceUXpcnkCBXNf5ksMT4jp9a6g7JV5VmqQCOxQkPLqmKrgwgWx1b9 nV4VjXE5QtBLPy0y78gsyNje82uDDubqDDgO/mpXZqaj/TDyYY10CmagHHreKN4R 7ducy4J1zTPUur5fhhwcdhYb5sHds9A9W+69J795klmaFDT8ZIad1/Z42qIaNuv+ yBTyUpY0ONXoYWq6Hyv2mGYaI7UkkCszoyUVCRpLT7zS9J6dchJd1f8a2711COk+ ay0o629bNZXDcD03JdNuFOqZDrv/Mhu6NcC/FUukygZLQl0vwIn4uqwgsQIZTJK6 5nmuPirCjXmM5VPnOS1Yh9oCA2O6wqZ6d+36Uv7+uIR1/2sAP/NknruIi2tbvZMA JjbzVk19AlWTaMkDgsVONaMOnzOKB+HTzXCZ0xrDQ17Z399FocvAy8WqtT6INdVB 44+5K4Mr7lzqcdHmUo3I =/Nqx -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RSA(R) Conference 2012 Save $700 by Nov 18 Register now http://p.sf.net/sfu/rsa-sfdev2dev1 _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
