Would some kind soul wax lyrical for a moment to tell me why I would want 
LOCAL_APPS rather than a stand alone machine acting as a fat client.
If the answer is admin then a one-word answer would be enough. I (after very 
many years) don't consider this aspect to be a chore.

[for the non native english speakers:
wax lyrical means tell an entertaining story, no body will argue with you
chore means hard or boring work]
