Further on that, you can only PXE boot computers over an Ethernet
connection, so it must be connected at all times. You are talking
about T40 and T60 laptops, but it will be impossible to make them
mobile with LTSP over wireless, you'd need to install the Linux distro
to hard disk.

Otherwise, if you are running them as fat clients, with a spare one
used as an LTSP server, I could see you being able to support 20
clients.

Gigabit for fat clients, fast ethernet for thin clients.
