Here is what happens now - When the system starts there are 5 white dots below Ubuntu . They turn red. then start to change back to white. If I press escape with in the 1-st 8 or so dot color changes , we get cli Past that point pressing escape does not show cli. The screen stays stuck at the 'Ubuntu' display with 5 red dots below. Ctl-Alt-Del does reboot the system. So the system is not frozen. So this is progress... But not ready for general use. If you or anyone else has another suggestion please reply. Thanks!
