Hi...I'm wondering if it's possible to use an "include" statement in
lts.conf? (I've tried and it's not working so I'm wondering if my syntax
or something is wrong) Instead of putting all the workstations into the
lts.conf file...I'd rather reference another file and "include" it in
lts.conf. (I've done a similar thing for my dhcpd.conf file to reference
a file containing all the reserved IP addresses for printers and servers)
for example:
# lts.conf, provided by Edubuntu installer
# see http://edubuntu.org/documentation for more information
include "/var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/lab-auto.txt";
[default]
LDM_THEME=edubuntu
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
LDM_LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
LDM_SESSION="gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback"
#SSH_FOLLOW_SYMLINKS=False
LOCAL_APPS=true
VOLUME = 100
My lab-auto.txt file would be a file containing entries such as the ones
below
########### Computer Lab ##############
[00:12:3f:c0:a8:81]
HOSTNAME = L-54
LDM_AUTOLOGIN = True
LDM_USERNAME = L-54
LDM_PASSWORD = q
[00:12:3F:C0:B3:4C]
HOSTNAME = L-53
LDM_AUTOLOGIN = True
LDM_USERNAME = L-53
LDM_PASSWORD = q
The idea behind this...is that in my lab here at this school...for the
very young kids (kindergarten) I prefer to have all the lab machines log
in automatically...and then once they are gone and the older kids come in,
I want to revert to normal operation. In the past I simply swapped
lts.conf files using the cp command to copy over lts.conf with another
containing the appropriate entries. I think I could make this cleaner and
easier by simply referencing another file using the "include" statement.
Any ideas? Will this work? Am I doing it wrong? Bear in mind...I've
only shown you a fraction here...the server actually serves close to 75
thin-clients...ranging from my lab to the whole building...and they are
mixed auto-login and standard login. I'm trying to clean things up a bit
and not have a HUGE lts.conf file.
