It was a good idea and I gave it a try but still get the error "could not
find kernel image vmlinuz"

I was reading that Debian will re generate an image on its own (the
instructions I initially used said to order that done on the cl) .

I've got two "linuz" type files in my boot directory
vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic-pae and  vmlinuz-3.2.0-29-generic-pae

There is also what looked like a vmlinuz directory there but ls -l reveals
it is something I am not familiar with - perhaps a symlink? that forwards
to the first file above (vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic-pae).

ls -l reports this about vmlinuz

lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root    33 Aug 11 14:09 vmlinuz ->
boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic-pae

The properties of vmlinuz-3.2.0-29-generic-pae and
vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic-pae are different too ...
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  5015840 Apr 23 11:41 vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic-pae
-rw------- 1 root root  5010176 Jul 27 14:35 vmlinuz-3.2.0-29-generic-pae

AND I didn't even have the server installed on April 23?

I hope the error can be found.
