My approach would be to have the UPS trigger a script that would issue
the shutdown command on the server with something like 3 minutes or
more of lead time. This will issue a warning to the users, who should
then save their work. Then, at some short interval just before the
server actually shuts down, use pssh to shutdown the clients.
