Dear list, I have recently upgraded my LTSP server to quantal. I have created a new thin client chroot with the ltsp-create-client script.
The thin client boots up fine, but the ldm login screen does not show the correct list of sessions: It shows "xterm" and "Ubuntu" only, although gnome-fallback and gnome-classic are present on the server. ldminfod on the server returns: [...] session:gnome-session --session=gnome-classic session:gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback session:gnome-session --session=ubuntu session-with-name:GNOME Classic:gnome-session --session=gnome-classic session-with-name:GNOME Classic (No effects):gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback session-with-name:Ubuntu:gnome-session --session=ubuntu xsession:/etc/X11/Xsession I can connect via netcat to the server on port 9571 and get the same output from ldminfod as shown above. So ldminfod detects the sessions all right, but the client does not show them on the login screen. Putting LDM_SESSION="gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback" into lts.conf leads to message 'Failed to load session "gnome-fallback"'. So there seems to be a real problem starting the session. However, on the server, I can manually start "gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback" and it woks fine. I can't understand why ldm does not detect and/or start the installed sessions. Any ideas are greatly appreciated, Regards, Rüdiger Note: I have filed a bug report at launchpad for this issue, since it happens with a freshly generated client chroot.
