Now, that seems to be a pointer in the right direction! There is a bugreport about this: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=830533 Try (in a terminal) export QT_GRAPHICSSYSTEM=native kile and see if that brings Kile's speed back to normal.
