There are instantly two solutions that come into my mind. LTSP runs on some Linux system and is able to connect USB devices, but you need a Windows app, so:
1. Does the application run under Wine? This would be the most direct way to connect the application with a USB communcation stream on the Linux side. 2. Maybe a VM of some sort, Linux host and Windows guest, would run? Could be kinda slower, but if you don't need a full-speed USB 2.0 stream... The only question is, does the USB client-to-server thing support other devices than just mass storage? As far as I have followed the discussions here, you can e. g. connect a scanner, and I read something about sound devices years ago, so it should be possible. Just my 2 cents.
