All, Thin-clients work pretty well at this point for us. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and using Zotac Mini-PC ZBOX-ID41
http://www.zotacusa.com/zbox-id41.html I realize that streaming audio and video over the network is taxing, but I'm a bit surprised that one low-res youtube video makes everything really sluggish. What are the steps I should look at to trouble shoot the network throughput? The LTSP cluster is in the next room and I'm connected via a CISCO Catalyst 3750. This is my test environment. The production environment is booting from a Ubuntu 11.10 box but the user X sessions are running off of redhat servers (going through the same cisco switch as my test environment) that are across campus over fiber, and its much more responsive. Any speed tweaks and suggestions would be appreciated. Would installing things like compcache be of any help?
