I have been fighting a bug in Mint 15 / Ubuntu 13.04 where audio works fine, until audacity starts. Then all audio dies on the client machine, until the client is rebooted. It seems to be similar to a bug that happens on the Debian release as well.
I am trying to find where the call is generated for pulseaudio to start on the client, starting with pulseaudio --system <long list of options> .
