i have kiwi-ltsp installed (opensuse 13.1) on a quite powerful server (2x xeon e5-2407 16Gb memory, / on 100Gb SSD). thinclients boot reasonable fast, etc.. but some programs are terrible slow on the thinclients: e.g kate is so slow, you cannot work with it. When typing in characters. they appear 1 character per second, the print menu comes up to slow, opening a menu takes ages, etc.... All programs close to kde seem to work slow. On the contrary Libreoffice works quite good (characters appear as fast as you can type them). The servers load is almost nothing (0.5). ltsp-info seems to be broken, here's the output :
