Xfce might be a solution but maybe tuned a little bit... However, I did not
really try other ones. (using debians ltsp...)

Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] MATE or Xfce?

Hello.
I have cca 70 thin or fat clients in our school, mostly old PCs. I've
been using LTSP on Ubuntu 10.04, but it is no longer supported. I want
to upgrade to 14.04. I'm trying this new Ubuntu at first on a virtual
server. Unity desktop seems to be really slow with my clients without
accelerated graphics. I'm looking for a fast unaccelerated desktop, that
works well in ltsp. What would you recommend - Xfce, MATE or something else?
Thanks for an advice.
Lukáš Bernard
