Hi all

I'm currently working on a new setup for our old LTSP setup.

I've based the boot server on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (because of the NBD problem in
14.04). Works just fine in all of my previous tests. It boots just fine on some
newer clients.

How ever I'm currently testing some older client hardware based on Pentium II,
400 MHz, 128Mb RAM

These runs LTSP 4.2 just fine. However I cannot make it boot the NBD image.

I'm getting as far as

Loading vmlinuz ......
Loading initrd.img ........ ready.

and the it just sits there. Nothing happens.

At first I thought it might be the low RAM, but a virtualbox VM with 128 Mb RAM
boots just fine (it is running a different virtualized processoer though)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can debug this?

It might even be useful to switch to booting via NFS just to see if that can
provide more information. But I've yet to find any information on how I switch
from NBD based booting to NFS based booting of the client.

(on the newer hardware clients we have some hardware reliability issues, there
Pentium II clients have been extremely stable for years)
