I was using an Ubuntu 12.04 AMD.64 server to provide LTSP to i386 clients.

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 (still AMD.64), I find that the chroot is
not used the same way.

I could not log into the clients anymore until I deleted the users from the
chroot (clients would authenticate, then return to the log-in screen), and
changes made by the client are reflected in the server's /home directory.

Is there something that I need to do to restore the old behaviour where
clients use the /home directory in the chroot?

This is my lts.conf file, in case that's relevant:

[default]
    X_COLOR_DEPTH=24
    LOCALDEV=True
    SOUND=False
    NBD_SWAP=True
    SYSLOG_HOST=server
    XKBLAYOUT=us
    LDM_DEBUG=no
    LDM_XSESSION=/usr/bin/lxsession -s Lubuntu -e LXDE
    LDM_AUTOLOGIN=true

        LDM_PASSWORD=nopass
