I was offered a bunch of Schola S-1000CE thin clients. I would use them in our LTSP Linux setup.
There is a data sheet, it says VIA Eden 1GHz, and as far as I know they have 512 MB RAM. Graphics chipset is Via Chrome 9HC3 with shared memory and a max of 1920 x 1200. There is an embedded Windows on them which I guess I couldn't make use of, but I think they would be able to boot from PXE. And my question is this: Couple of years ago, I heard that there are problems with Linux/LTSP on VIA Eden and VIA chipsets. Can someone confirm? Do you think 512 MB Ram is ok? And can I be sure to boot from PXE with them? Thanks for your insight! Regards Rolf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Transform Data into Opportunity.
